Day 220 - Peace and Power (Victory)
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures . . .
—I CORINTHIANS 15:1-4
All of creation looks for stability, peace. The body can be in climates with temperatures from 31 to 120 Fahrenheit (dry heat), and the blood remains the same. Spiritually we would like that kind of stability, not to be controlled by the things outside of us. As spiritual creatures we tend to be either warm-blooded or cold-blooded. The cold-blooded need a meeting outside of them that will whip them up to get them moving again. The spiritual man is warm-blooded, more than a conqueror when it comes to the things outside of him.
The body has an order; it will protect the heart and brain and sacrifice all else. We should have a spiritual order that delineates the divine and moral things we refuse to sacrifice. Look at things people today get passionate about protecting, such as the right to abortion and the right for same-sex marriages. People like this are protecting what is less significant in life and are dying.
